How to Create Chart of Accounts
The Group Chart of Accounts is how we categorise data for use in financial report, ensuring seamless integration and unified financial tracking.
1. From Snapzl home page, click the Settings button.
2. Navigate to the Charts section. You will be redirected to the Charts page where you can see all listed chart of accounts.
3. To add a new Chart, click the "New" button. The “New Chart” panel appears.
4. Type in the Chart Name and Chart Description.
5. Hit the "Save" button to create the Chart.
Adding a Chart Account:
1. After creating the Chart, highlight it and click the "Accounts" button.
2. You will be taken to the Accounts page, where all your listed accounts are displayed.
3. To add a new Chart Account, click the "New" button and the "New Chart Account" panel will appear.
4. Enter the account details, including Account Code, Name, choose Account Type, Description, and Tags.
5. Once done, hit the "Save" button to create the Chart Account.
Editing a Chart Account:
1. You can still edit your saved Chart Accounts. Just select a Chart Account.
2. Click the "Edit" button located in the upper right corner of the Accounts page.
3. The "Edit Chart Account" panel will appear.
4. Any changes you make to the account details will enable the "Save Changes" button.
5. Click the "Save Changes" button to save your edits.
How to Copy Chart of Accounts from Xero Organisation or Snapzl CSV Entity
1. From the home page, click the "Settings" button. Then, navigate to the "Charts" section.
2. If you already have created charts, highlight the specific chart you want to work with.
3. Click the "Accounts" button within that chart. You will be redirected to the list of Chart Accounts.
4. Next, click the "Import" button. From the drop-down menu items that appear, select "Copy from connected Organisation."
5. "Import Accounts" dialog box will appear. Choose the organisation from which you wish to copy the Chart of Accounts. Options include all linked organisations from Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or CSV entities.
6. Once you've made your selection, hit the "Import" button.
7. All imported accounts will now be visible in your Chart of Accounts list within the selected chart.
How to Copy from Existing Chart of Accounts
1. From Snapzl's home page, click the "Settings" button.
2. Navigate to the "Charts" section.
3. To copy an existing chart, ensure you have previously created one.
4. Highlight the specific chart that you want to copy.
5. Then, click the "Copy" button located in the top right corner of your screen. You now have a copied version of the selected chart.
Editing the copied chart:
1. If you wish to make changes to the copied chart, you can do so. To view and manage the copied chart, click the "Accounts" button.
2. From the Accounts page, you will find all the chart accounts associated with the copied chart.
3. If you want to add more accounts, simply click "New" to create or import additional accounts as needed.
How to Import Chart of Accounts with a CSV File
1. From Snapzl's home page, click the "Settings" button.
2. Navigate to the "Charts" section.
3. If you have already created charts, highlight the specific chart you want to work with. Then, click the "Accounts" button within that chart.
4. Next, click the "Import" button. From the drop down menu items, select "Import from CSV."
5. A "Import Accounts" dialog box will appear. To set up your import file correctly, download Snapzl's import template. This template will provide you with sample spreadsheets and required fields for reference.
6. After setting up your import file according to the template, select the CSV file that you want to import.
7. Once you've chosen the file, hit the "Import" button. All imported accounts from the CSV file will now be visible in your Chart of Accounts list within the selected chart.
