How to Set up a Reporting Group

A Report Group is a collection of organisations sourced from Xero, CSV entities, or a combination that report as one unit. This feature enables you to create consolidations of different companies that report as one.

Creating a Reporting Group:

1. Start from the Snapzl home page and click the "Settings" button.

2. Navigate to the "Reporting Group" tab.

3. Click the "New" button to create a new Reporting Group. New Reporting Group panel appears.

4. Provide a Name and Title. Then, select the organisations that you want to add to this Reporting Group.

5. Choose a Chart of Accounts that you want to use for the Reporting Group. You can also add a new Chart of Accounts from here. Click the “New Chart” to type the chart name you want. You will find newly created chart from the Charts section.

6. Pick your Retained Earnings account from the drop down list.

7. Set the date for the Financial Year End. Once done, hit Save. From the Reporting Group list, you will see a message if there's incomplete settings like mapping or unset retained earnings.

How to Map Chart of Accounts

In a Group, member organisations may have distinct Charts of Accounts. To ensure consistent reporting, we use account mapping to align the member organisation's Chart with the Group's, ensuring uniformity in the account scheme.

1. From the Snapzl home page and click the "Settings" button.

2. Navigate to the "Reporting Group" tab. Ensure you have already created your Report Group and added at least one member organisation.

3. Select your reporting group, and double-click to see the list of organisations in the group members section. Choose the specific organisation you want to map.

4. For manual mapping, individually link each 'native' account to the corresponding group account. Note that this process may be time-consuming for organisations with a large Chart of Accounts.

5. Alternatively, utilise Snapzl's Mapping Assistant for a more efficient mapping process. The Mapping Assistant provides suggestions for matching accounts, displaying account code, name, and type. Users can also cross-reference accounts from the Account Types section. If needed, you have the option to skip chart mapping. Simply click "Close" to return from classic mapping.

6. Access the Reverse Mapping feature in Snapzl for situations where member charts need to be mapped to a smaller group chart. Click the “Reverse Mapping” button, and you will be redirected to Reverse Mapping page.
